Darwin Tipping

I've become a true suburbanite today. Our lawn had become so overgrown during the wet season we had to clear it to make sure there were no squatters taking free refuge. At the end we collected enough fallen fronds and other dying scrubbery to house a large family in Mexico. Obviously that wouldn't have fit into our little Ford Laser so we caved and spent $50 to rent a trailer for 4 hours with Andrew's truck as the muscle hauler. Mowing the knee-high lawn for 3 hours last week was torturous agony but taking the fronds to the tip today was surprisingly fun-filled and a good work out. ... maybe it was because I was the "crusher" and had the opportunity to do alot of jumping and stomping rather than schlepping the green garden waste across the yard (Thanks Andrew and Lydia!). Maybe I can be a country girl... or maybe I just like going to the tip!

March update

Since I got notice of an opportunity on April 16th to take the US nursing exam, I've just been studying, studying, studying from practice exam books purchased from Amazon early last year. I'm way behind in my blog updates but they SHALL be uploaded though I will probably just make short comments.

To Date:
March 7 - Darwin Metrogaine - I had the most horrible Achilles pain and practically crawled back. Old age? Lack of stretching? or a plain simple need to get back into shape and start training for the NY Marathon???!

Feb 27 - East Timor - The most remote country I have ever been to. I was able to locate only 1 postcard but unable to locate the post office to mail it. It was refreshing to see children and locals simply happy and not focused at all on Westerner pockets.

Jan 26 - Singapore/Malaysia (my pics, Bob's pics)- I deliberately travelled on Chinese New Year this year to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what happens in Chinese households in this most festive of holidays. Apparently the Chungs take the shortcut route in CNY ceremony!

Jan ? - Boardgame night
