My Birthday Happy

So another year has come. The haunting age of 33. The age when Christ died. The age when Alexander the Great died. An age I am definitely not ready to die because I have yet to begin my life.
I think the recognition of my age has agitated me since I turned the ripe age of 30. I know age is in the mind, but I feel like my immaturity should be expiring soon. Anyone know where I can renew it?
Well, luckily I have great friends and family in Australia AND the US who accept me for my nuttiness. So, you can imagine my great surprise when my housemates and my good friends got together to take me out to dinner. The greater surprise is that several people lied to me about not being able to make dinner tonight and erupted an unnecessary hissy fit from me (Sorry, V). I love all the pressies. I am working on redo-ing our laundry room to fit the massage table so I can give complementary massages to everyone in the house!

Since the Virginia Tech shootings, I've noticed this spray-painted girl on my way home every day. I HAVE to pass by it if I take the train home. And since, she just seems to get sadder and sadder with every progressive day. I wonder what the intention of the artist is and find it amazing how just a few strokes of a spray can evoke much emotion from me. I hope she realizes why she is so sad and finds happiness in the process... Would I be justified to turn her frown upside-down? How about some hair? The Sydney sun is quite bright sometimes.
I haven't seen any other of these creations, but apparently the artist has been busy in Newtown as well. She's been dubbed downcast girl. I think mine is experiencing a whole lot more despair. What do you think?

When I was but a wee cluster of cells of less than 12 years old, I dreamt of superpowers. Superpowers particularly of Firestar's. I took scalding hot baths and snapped my fingers occassionally in the hopes of sparking. My superpowers never surfaced, but my brother, cousins and I did get caught once hopping bunkbeds in the apartment in our effort to fly.
Maybe that's why I've become so enamoured with the TV show "Heroes". I think it is particularly successful because the characters are portrayed as normal human beings grappling with their new identity whilst being threatened with unknown evil forces. Oh. That should eb their tag line. If you want to watch yourself (and you SHOULD), you can download from: www.alluc.org. There's heaps of other stuff on there as well. For sneak peeks of future episodes and other fanfare: http://www.heroesrevealed.com/.

BTW, I never thought Spiderman would be so adorable: http://www.toywiz.com/itsybitsyspiderman.html

The Spiderman 3 trailer if you haven't already seen it:
Heck, take a whiff of all the new trailers.
